  • Biography

Witchcraft made its debut in 2000, when Magnus Pelander decided to form a band to pay tribute to Bobby Liebling and Roky Erickson of Pentagram. The band released a single in tribute to the famous doom band in 2002, and decided to continue the adventure.

The band then prepared their self-titled album for Rise Above Records.

The band’s major influences are evident, with Black Sabbath and Pentagram topping the list.

In 2005, the Swedes returned with “Firewood”, establishing the band a little further afield. In 2007, they returned with a split album in the company of The Sword, but also, and above all, with “The Alchemist”, again on Rise Above, establishing themselves as one of the best bands of the 70s revival wave of the 2000s.

After a five-year break, Witchcraft return in 2012 with a new line-up and a fourth album, entitled “Legend”, acclaimed by press and public alike.

This was followed by “Nucleus”, released in 2016 by Nuclear Blast Records.
